Paul Skenes Sets the Record Straight on Rumors Surrounding Olivia Dunne’s $2 Million NYC Apartment

MLB

Recently, Olivia Dunne’s luxurious $2 million apartment in Manhattan has stirred speculation, particularly among fans wondering if it signifies a major life change for Paul Skenes as well. This comes right after Skenes celebrated winning the prestigious Cy Young Award and hitting significant milestones early in his baseball career.

However, Skenes has swiftly dismissed these rumors.

During an event in Florida for Veterans Day, organized by Raising Cane’s, Skenes addressed the swirling gossip by emphasizing that there simply isn’t any truth to it. “Rumors are rumors,” he stated, acknowledging the frustration but concluding that the noise doesn’t really matter in the grand scheme of things.

In addition, he responded to speculation linking him to the New York Yankees, revealing his disdain for how quickly misinformation can spread. “There’s a reason Jeff Passan didn’t write about it,” he remarked, indicating his irritation at the rumors. He continued, “I’ve had some time to think about it, but I’m glad I got to speak to the Pittsburgh media and clear the air over nothing. It is what it is.”

Skenes Makes Himself Clear

Skenes clarified that Dunne’s new apartment is a personal venture unrelated to his baseball ambitions. While rumors intensify due to her activities in New York, he emphasized their strong relationship without allowing external chatter to disrupt their lives. Following a recent trip to Hawaii together with friends, he affectionately joked about their differing training regimes. “We’re pretty much the exact opposite in terms of build,” he said. “So what I do is not at all similar to what she does. We train differently.”

Skenes is currently focused on enhancing his skills as a pitcher. His intense regimen includes a daily intake of around 3,500 calories, paired with a unique energy-boosting tactic. “I eat honey between innings. It’s good sugar and it’s instant energy,” he explained, showcasing his dedication to maintaining peak performance.

With ongoing rumors about Dunne’s presence in New York feeding speculation about his future, Skenes remains grounded about his plans. “I’ll be in Pittsburgh in 2026,” he declared, reinforcing his commitment to growth as a player. “I’m not a finished product. And I won’t be for a long time. So I’m just figuring out ways to get better.”

Skenes also articulated his broader vision for the Pirates, stressing the need for systemic improvements. “You start with the what and then move on to the how. So what does that look like? It’s making the city better, the team, the franchise and organization, everybody in the organization better and the how is the day-to-day and how you approach it,” he explained, emphasizing his proactive mindset.

As it stands, both he and Dunne remain focused on their respective paths. With her thriving career in New York and Skenes committed to his development in Pittsburgh, they appear unaffected by the external noise surrounding their lives.
